Cavium Joins the OpenMP Effort

31 vendors and research organizations now collaborating on developing standard parallel programming model

Austin, Texas — September 12, 2017 – The OpenMP ARB, a group of leading hardware and software vendors and research organizations that create the OpenMP standard parallel programming specification, today announced that Cavium, Inc., a leading provider of semiconductor products that enable intelligent processing for enterprise, data center, cloud, service provider wired and wireless networking has joined as a new member.

Cavium and Partners to Demonstrate ThunderX Servers at ISC 2016

ThunderX system partners, high performance I/O partners and software partners showing platforms in various form factors supporting HPC and hyperscale cloud applications

San Jose, CA and Frankfurt, Germany, June 20, 2016 –Cavium, Inc. (NASDAQ: CAVM), a leading provider of semiconductor products that enable intelligent processing for enterprise, data center, cloud, wired and wireless networking, is demonstrating ThunderX-based work load optimized server platforms in various form factors for High Performance Compute and hyperscale data centers at the International Super Computing Conference (ISC) 2016 from Monday, June 20th to Wednesday, June 22nd in Frankfurt, Germany.
ThunderX is Cavium’s 64-bit ARMv8 server processor family for next generation high performance computing and hyperscale workloads. With up to 48 high-performance custom cores, single and dual socket capability, high memory bandwidth and capacity, and integrated hardware accelerators, ThunderX enables best-in-class ARMv8 performance per dollar and performance per watt. The ThunderX family includes multiple SKUs that enable servers optimized for compute, storage, network and security workloads in the HPC cloud, and is widely supported by industry-leading OS, hypervisor, software tool and application vendors.
Show Highlights and Demonstrations
Cavium executives will be available to discuss the broad range of HPC solutions, including the company’s most recent announcements. ThunderX platforms from various ODM & OEM partners will be on display at Cavium booth #1105 along with presentation sessions at ISC 2016.  Specific activities include:

Cavium Announces Financial Results for Q4 2015

SAN JOSE, Calif., Jan. 27, 2016 -- Cavium, Inc. (NASDAQ: CAVM), a leading provider of semiconductor products that enable secure and intelligent processing for enterprise, data center, cloud, wired and wireless networking, today announced financial results for the fourth quarter endedDecember 31, 2015.

Net revenue in the fourth quarter of 2015 was $100.9 million, a 3.9% sequential decrease from the $105.1 million reported in the third quarter of 2015 and relatively flat from the $101.2 million reported in the fourth quarter of 2014.

Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) Results
Net loss in the fourth quarter of 2015 was $1.0 million, or $(0.02) per diluted share, compared to net income of $4.2 million, or $0.07 per diluted share in the third quarter of 2015. Gross margins were 66.2% in the fourth quarter of 2015 compared to 65.5% in the third quarter of 2015. Total cash and cash equivalents were $134.6 million at December 31, 2015.

Non-GAAP Results
Cavium believes that the presentation of non-GAAP financial measures provides important supplemental information to management and investors regarding financial and business trends relating to Cavium's financial condition and results of operations. These measures should only be used to evaluate Cavium's results of operations in conjunction with the corresponding GAAP measures. The reconciliation between GAAP and non-GAAP financial results is provided in the financial statements portion of this release.
In the fourth quarter of 2015, Non-GAAP net income was $16.6 million, or $0.28 per diluted share. Non-GAAP gross margin was 66.6% and Non-GAAP operating margin (non-GAAP income from operations as a percentage of revenue) was 17.1%.

Cavium and Leading Partners Showcase ThunderX™ ARM-based Server Platforms for High Performance Computing at Super Computing 2015 (SC15)

Austin, TX – November 16, 2015 – Cavium, Inc. (NASDAQ: CAVM), a leading provider of semiconductor products that enable intelligent processing for enterprise, data center, cloud, wired and wireless networking, today announced the demonstration of ThunderX based workload optimized server platforms for High Performance Computing, Compute Intensive Data Analytics, Scale Out Storage and Hyperscale Data Centers at SC15 in the Austin Convention Center in Austin, TX.  The show Expo dates are from Monday, November 16th to Thursday, November 19th.

Cavium to Demonstrate Cloud Workload Instances at OVH Summit 2015

  • Providing value-add functionality for application acceleration, network configuration and provisioning, security, and isolation in multi-tenant compute clusters.
  • Accelerating network performance in cloud data centers for Software Defined Networking (SDN) and Network Functions Virtualization (NFV) applications by offloading Open vSwitch with various server virtualization techniques.
  • Providing security acceleration and support for overlay networks, IPsec encryption, DPI for application recognition and dynamic service chaining.
  • Cloud configuration, provisioning and management utilizing OpenStack API services/ plugins and support SDN controllers including OpenDaylight and Floodlight. Cavium’s product demonstration will include LiquidIO IIoffloading (OVS and IPsec) with OpenStack Cloud OS network acceleration and provisioning.
